Leadership change in Rwanda

Congratulations to Ndugu, our loan officer in Rwanda. He has been accepted to graduate school and will be moving on to new personal and career opportunities. Fortunately we are replacing him with an experience team of individuals AND we are now partnering with a professional Christian Microfinance organization.

These photos probably look like American mug-shots, but they are instead the legal photos of our client team pasted into the GSM-MEF Rwanda bank book.

Our partner in this venture is AMASEZERANO COMMUNITY BANKING s.a. They were created by African Evangelistic Enterprise NGO (main shareholder 90.15%) and 60 people and is registered by the Rwanda National Bank. The activities started in 2008 of August. All the branches have been computerized and are interconnected. Amasezerano has also agreed to assist us in the training and education of our clients. We are fortunate indeed to be associated with such a progressive and talented organization.

GSM-MEF Partners with CAV-Ishaka

The CAV-Ishaka Management Team

Our efforts toward the Microcredit Empowerment Fund in Burundi have us teaming up with an already established Microfinance Agency. CAV-Ishaka consists of a professional staff of 8 with backgrounds in banking, microfinance, psychology and accounting. Their Office is located in the center of the capital city, Bujumbura. CAV was registered as non-governmental organization in 2004 and Certified by the Central Bank of Burundi in 2007. In a country which is exiting 12 years of civil war, they are committed to the reconciliation and reconstruction of Burundi. CAV will assist GSM-MEF by training and managing the clients, moderating business accountability groups, prepping loan agreements and providing banking services for the clients. We are thankful to be associated with such a talented and caring partner.
